Alex Takes California

Hey y'all, at the beginning of March, Jared and I took a mini vacation to go to California. He had to be there for work on Tuesday, so we figured we might as well make a trip out of it! Yes, I know I am slacking as a blogger by just now getting this post up, but better late than never! We tried to fill our schedule and see as much as possible in a short time. There is so much to do in California, so we will definitely have to make a second trip, which I am not complaining about! Below is a simple itinerary with a round up of my outfits!

Friday:

A you can imagine we were so tired from traveling, especially with the time change! We both LOVE Italian food, so we kicked off the trip by eating at Osteria La Buca. They had great pasta and wine!

Saturday:

We woke up bright and early to hike to the famous Hollywood sign. Before the big hike, we needed to fill our stomachs! We ate breakfast at Bolt, which is a cute little coffee shop. We both got breakfast burritos and they were delicious. This was not far at all from the start of the hike.

Next we hiked to the Griffith Observatory, which is where you can see a perfect view of the Hollywood sign and downtown Los Angeles. Park along the street, Fern Dell Drive, and from there to the top is about 1.2 miles....You can do it! It's a great booty workout and there are so many breathtaking moments throughout the hike (no pun intended). Also, you can hike to the actual Hollywood sign, but it is over 6 miles and that was not how I wanted to start my vacation....ONE mile was plenty.

Workout Set: Fabletics x Kelly Rowland

During the day, we went to Hollywood Boulevard to see all of the stars. Of course I had to get pictures with my favorite Hollywood stars: Britney Spears, Pink, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Queen.

Saturday Night: We ate at Sur, and everyone knows one of my favorite reality shows is Vanderpump Rules. It is based of the waiters/waitresses that work at Sur, which is a restaurant owned by Lisa Vanderpump. The details inside the restaurant definitely led up to the expectations. It was gorgeous and the food was delicious! I recommend the goat cheese balls for an appetizer and drinking the Big Pinky. This is Lisa's specialty drink and I probably drank one too many..oops!

Skirt is from Traveling Chic Boutique in Charleston

Sunday:

Our first stop was Venice beach. We ate brunch at The Waterfront. This was a new restaurant right on the beach! Best part was that they had bottomless mimosas. They also had the cute wall that is in my picture, which obviously makes a great photo opportunity!

Also, make sure to get a picture under the Venice sign...Yes you will have to stop traffic, but its worth the risk. Next we went to the Venice Whaler. It had a great rooftop bar that looked over the ocean.

It was raining so ignore the bad lighting...it's for the memories!

Next we went to the Santa Monica Pier. Be sure to walk around and shop and then walk down the pier. They have rides, churros, yummy fruit, and great photo opportunities! We walked to the end of the pier and had a drink at the Mexican restaurant. We then had dinner at this other new Mexican restaurant, Blue Plate Taco. They had the best tacos and margaritas!....yes we basically had Mexican food for every single meal!

Monday:

My dream has been to go to Disneyland! Each section of the park made you feel like you were in a movie or fairytale! DISNEYLAND 101: Get a fast pass for the most popular rides FIRST. The later you wait, the longer the wait will be (even with the fast pass). We got the hopper pass to go to California Adventure. This actually had more "rollercoasters" than Disneyland. You have to go to Cars Land. It feels like you are walking through the movie. Some of our favorite rides were Guardians of the Galaxy, Incredicoaster, and Soarin' Around the World. I would get fast passes to Space Mountain and Radiator Springs Racers. Space Mountain was shut down when we were due back for our fast passes (our luck) and the race car ride was a 2.5 hour wait....and we just aren't crazy enough to wait that long.

"Making Magic Happen" Top (only $11)/ Minnie Ears / Denim Jacket

I actually get to go back to California in April and I am so excited! It is one of my favorite vacation destinations and I highly recommend adding it to your bucket list.

XO,

Alex Rinna
